Gujarat: Two College Friends Found Dead Inside Temple Washroom; Police Recover Drug Vials and Syringes

In an unexpected turn of events two teenage girls, end their lives by injecting anaesthetic drug. Their bodies were found inside the washroom of temple in Saniya village, on the city's outskirts Surat. According to TOI reports police found medicine vials and syringes on Friday, March 6, 2026 night. No suicide note was found at the scene.

Even after questioning family members, police didn't get any information about the motive behind taking such an extreme step. Meanwhile while inspecting deceased mobile, police found images and ChatGPT searches which had a suggestion of ways to commit suicide using drugs. A phone contained an image of a news article about a woman's suicide using an anesthetic drug.  As per the report Roshni Sirsath and Josna Chaudhary of Dindoli went missing after leaving for college Friday morning. Police took help of police to find them. Based on the active mobile phones, police traced the location to  Saniya village via their active mobile phones.

Around 9:30 Pm family members found one of the girl's scooter outside the  Atmiya Sanskar Dham Swaminarayan Temple and initiated a search of the grounds, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police N P Gohil. CCTV footage revealed the girls entering a washroom around 7:44 AM. The door was locked from the inside, and family members forced it open. Inside, police discovered one empty vial, three vials containing drugs, and three syringes near the girls' bodies.

Their mobile phones were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. Sirsath was taken to New Civil Hospital, and Chaudhary to SMIMER Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. Chaudhary was a second-year BCom student at Wadia Women's College, and Sirsath was a first-year BCom student at Udhna Citizen Commerce College. According to Gohil, the families contacted police when the girls didn't return from college in the afternoon and didn't answer their phones.
