Indore: Penthouse Dispute Turns Violent as Man Rams Car into Techie; Disturbing Video Surfaces

Madhya Pradesh: A major clash erupted in the residential society over a commercial use of a penthouse turned fatal in Indore. The fight turned violent when man allegedly rammed his car into a group of residents, killing a woman and injuring other Sagar Township under the Lasudia police station. The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Accused identified as Mohit Choudhary, allegedly drove the car into a group of residents during a heated argument. Kuldeep Choudhary, the father of the accused, was also in the vehicle and has been taken into custody. The deceased, identified as software engineer Shampa Pathak (Pandey), had recently moved into the flat on March 13 with her husband, Saurabh, and their two children.

According to TOI report, the incident stemmed from residents' ongoing objections to the use of two penthouses for short-term rentals via an online application. Attempts to resolve the issue earlier in the week, including intervention by a local councillor, failed to de-escalate tensions. The disagreement escalated again on Wednesday night, culminating in the accused allegedly driving into the crowd. Following a report, police arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a private hospital, where Pathak was pronounced dead.

Security cameras recorded the incident, and the footage is now part of the ongoing investigation." A case has been registered, and the accused have been arrested," stated Additional DCP Amrendra Singh. "We are recording statements to determine the precise sequence of events."
