A woman named Pinky Sharma allegedly poisoned her husband, Anuj Kumar, due to ongoing marital conflicts and her past affair in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district. The incident took place on March 25 in Bhangela Village, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Khatauli police station.

Khatauli DSP Ramashish Yadav said, "On March 25, 2025, Khatauli police station received information from village Bhangela that a wife, Sanno alias Pinky, had poisoned her husband, Anuj Kumar, by mixing poison in his coffee..."

According to the information, the couple got married two years ago, but their suspicion and dispute began on the day of their wedding. According to the doctors, Anuj has been given mosquito repellent in coffee and is currently admitted to the hospital, where his condition remains critical.

Anuj's family members have accused Pinky that she wants to kill their son. He has also lodged a complaint with the police. Anuj's sister Meenakshi alleges that her sister-in-law Pinky was having an affair with someone.  "When no one stays at home, only mummy and papa are there. My brother lives in one house, and his wife stays here. If something had happened to my brother, she would have been responsible," said Anuj's sister, Meenakshi Sharma.

"Anuj got married to Sana two years ago... They had frequent conflicts but we never got to know about any. They kept it to themselves... Two months after their wedding, my brother found out about her affair... When my brother confronted her, she went to her parent's house. My brother wanted to divorce her, but she didn't want to take that step... She filed a case in Mahila Ashram and they sent her back to my brother even though my brother did not want to bring her home," Meenakshi said.

"On 25 March, she served poisoned coffee to my brother. He was taken to the hospital and admitted to the ICU because his condition became very critical. When we filed a police case, she constantly kept denying her involvement. Neither she nor her family members visited the hospital to see my brother... The doctors said that he has been given mosquito repellent... She tried to kill my brother and we want her to be punished," she added.
