The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a key absconding accused, Mohamed Ibrahim, in connection with a human trafficking case involving the illegal entry of Sri Lankan nationals into India under the false pretext of employment in Canada.

According to ANI report Ibrahim, who had multiple non-bailable warrants issued against him, was apprehended in Chennai on Tuesday. The arrest was carried out by the NIA in coordination with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Tamil Nadu Police.

The case pertains to a human trafficking network operating through Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, where victims were lured with fraudulent job promises abroad. Authorities are investigating further to dismantle the larger network involved in this racket.
