Uttar Pradesh Shocker: Woman Allegedly Throws 5-Year-old Daughter in River Before Attempting to Jump

A shocking incident has came to light in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman allegedly threw her  five-year-old daughter into the Yamuna River on Friday, February 27,2026. She then tried to end her life by jumping into a water. Fortunately woman was saved by passerby , said police. 

She took this extreme step following her dispute with her mother and then tried to jump into the water. According to PTI, team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been called in from Prayagraj to search for the girl in the river. Circle Officer Saurabh Singh said the incident took place in the Marka police station area of Banda district around 5 pm on Friday, when Rubina Yadav (30) threw her five-year-old daughter Pinky into the Yamuna. As she tried to jump into the river herself, some alert passersby stopped her, the officer said.

During interrogation, Rubina said she had been living at her maternal home in  Usra Dera with Pinky and her seven-year-old son Chintu for the last five years after a dispute with her in-laws, the officer said. She allegedly took the step after an argument with her mother.
