New Delhi, Oct 18 A veterinarian from Satna district in Madhya Pradesh was arrested on the charge of forging a FB profile of an IPS officer and seeking money from his relatives and friends on the pretext of emergency, Delhi Police said on Sunday.

Accused Munnalal Mavasi is a graduate from Satna College and a diploma holder in veterinary sciences.

Police said a case was lodged on the complaint of the IPS officer at the Lodhi Colony police station in August over the misuse of his Facebook profile to create a fake one in his name and with his picture.

Investigation led the police to Mavasi at Barua in Satna district, leading to his arrest. Cell phones used to access the fake FB profile of the complainant were also seized.

"The accused admitted to forging a fake profile of the complainant officer and asking for money from his friends and relatives. On interrogation, the accused also disclosed the name of another person at Satna, who also used to access the fake FB profile along with him," said Atul Thakur, DCP, South Delhi.

The accused took to crime to earn easy money and along with other accused began to cheat people by creating fake Facebook profiles and asking for money on the pretext of emergency.
