Navi Mumbai Water Cut: Emergency Shutdown in Nerul Halts Evening Supply on February 26
An emergency shutdown has been announced in the Nerul area on Thursday (February 26), due to which the regular evening water supply will remain completely suspended. The administration informed that the decision has been taken by the Water Supply Department of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation to carry out repairs of technical faults and undertake essential maintenance work. Citizens have been urged to use water sparingly during this period. Officials clarified that the shutdown has been imposed to urgently address technical issues that developed in the water supply system. As a result, the evening water supply in various nodes of the Nerul area will be disrupted. In some localities, there may be low water pressure or a delay in the restoration of supply. Authorities stated that the water supply will resume only after the repair work is fully completed.
Meanwhile, the administration has appealed to residents to use water carefully and only as required. Citizens have been advised to store drinking water in clean containers, avoid unnecessary wastage, and check household water tanks to ensure planned and limited usage of stored water. Families with senior citizens, young children, and patients have been especially urged to take additional precautions.
Although the sudden announcement of the shutdown has caused confusion in some areas, the administration has requested people not to believe in rumours and to contact the concerned ward office for official information. Residents have also been appealed to remain patient and cooperate with the municipal corporation until the water supply is restored smoothly.
