Yami Gautam is a big Bollywood actress. But above all she prefers to keep a low-profile. Maybe that's why she sometimes feels alienated in the glare of Bollywood.

In an interview given to a YouTube channel, Yami Gautam herself told the reason behind this. The city of Mumbai tests you, breaks you from within, she said.

I never gave up. But at one point I also decided to leave Bollywood and start farming. In 2018/2019, I came to the decision to quit acting, she said.

She said, after Vicky Donor, my films were flopping. I was disappointed. All in all, I had some land lying in Himachal Pradesh and I had decided that if my next film didn't work, I would take up agriculture.

She said, I had told my mother that if my film doesn't work, I will come back to Himachal. I love acting. But here every moment tests you. Mother also agreed.

She further said, the culture of Bollywood, the beliefs here, the people here all affect you. I don't like to market myself. If I am a good actress then why do I need to boast about it?

I am always told to give on networking and socializing, she said. But people like me don't like it. Why do I need to have a networking party to ask for a job? I am not saying that those who do this are doing it wrong.

On June 4, 2021, Yami shocked everyone by getting married in a very simple and secret ceremony in Himachal Pradesh. Yami tied the knot with director Aditya Dhar.

Yami and Aditya first met on the sets of 'Uri'. It was on this set that they first became friends and then fell in love with each other. But there was no talk of this love anywhere. Because Yami and Aditya didn't even give their thangpatta to anyone.
