Pune News: Traffic Police Take Action Against 1,454 Vehicles for Triple-Seating in Special Drive
Riding triple seat can cost you a lot as traffic department has launched special campaign against people riding triple seat. During the special campaign implemented by the police, a total of 1, 454 triple-seater vehicles have been taken action on various major roads, squares and traffic-dense places in Pune city. In addition, 2144 challans have been paid and a total of Rs 16 lakh 18 thousand 400 has been deposited in the government treasury.
The traffic police, on the orders of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and under the guidance of Joint Police Commissioner and Additional Police Commissioner Eastern Regional Division, conducted a special campaign to take action against triple-seater vehicles on the city roads. A total of 5921 people have been challan. Officers and officials from 30 traffic divisions and 44 police stations of the Pune City Transport Department actively participated in this campaign.

Traveling triple seat on two-wheeler is a crime under the law, triple-seaters increase the chances of accidents and pose a threat to the lives of other commuters including themselves. Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Department Himmat Jadhav has appealed to the citizens to follow traffic rules and drive safely and disciplined. Such special campaigns will continue to be implemented continuously to keep traffic smooth in the city and reduce the number of accidents.
