Pune Traffic Update: Vehicular Restrictions on Diveghat Road on February 23 for Widening Work; Check Alternate Route

Vehicular traffic will be completely halted for two hours on Monday, February 23, due to road widening work in the Diveghat area on the Alandi–Pandharpur Palkhi Highway in Pune. No vehicles will be allowed on the Hadapsar to Diveghat lane between 1 pm and 3 pm, according notification by the Pune Traffic Police Department.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has undertaken the widening of the Alandi–Pandharpur Palkhi Highway. As part of the project, hard rock in the Diveghat mountain section will be broken using controlled explosives. Therefore, authorities have decided to close the road during this period to ensure the safety of commuters and vehicles.

Diveghat is a crucial section of the highway, and the blasting work will temporarily impact traffic flow. Police have urged motorists, especially drivers of heavy vehicles, to plan their travel in advance and use alternative routes during the temporary closure.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Himmat Jadhav, appealed to citizens to cooperate with the temporary restrictions. He said the closure is necessary to carry out the widening work safely and urged motorists to strictly follow traffic instructions and use alternate routes.

With the traffic pattern set to change for two hours, commuters have been asked to check the schedule and plan accordingly. The Traffic Police Department has issued details of the alternative routes and requested public cooperation.
