Thane: Man Allegedly Strangling Wife After Domestic Dispute, Held Within 24 Hours

Thane: A  32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly strangling his wife following a dispute at their home. The incident took place in the early hours of Friday, April 24, at their home in Agakhanwadi area. Following the incident accused fled from the location.  The accused identified as Naresh Kamalsingh Khadka, was apprehended from Panvel in neighbouring Navi Mumbai within 24 hours of the incident. 

While talking about the incident, senior Inspector Abhay Mahajan, providing details of the case, said the incident took place in the early hours of Friday, April 24, at the couple’s residence in the Agakhanwadi area. The domestic discord escalated into a fatal confrontation, during which the accused allegedly strangled his wife, Hima Khadka. Neighbors, alerted to the situation, informed the police, who arrived to find the woman unresponsive. She was declared dead, and her body was sent to a government hospital for a postmortem examination.Police stated the accused had fled after the incident but was apprehended in Panvel following a manhunt.

A murder case has been registered against the accused under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators are working to determine the motive and examining the couple's background for any history of disputes.
