Thane Water Cut: TMC Announces 24-Hour Shutdown From March 27 in These Areas
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) announced a 24-hour water cut on Friday, March 26, in several parts of the district. The supply shutdown has been announced due to ongoing infrastructure work linked to an elevated road project from Anand Nagar to Saket.
Thane civic body further said in its statement that the pipeline work is being carried out by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. During the construction work of the road, the existing 813 mm pipeline affects the supply to the Indira Nagar pumping station.
MMRDA has laid a new 900 mm diameter pipeline, covering 520 metres of the total required 2,200 metres. To enable water supply from the old to the new line, authorities will carry out interconnection work, which requires a temporary water cut.
