Aurangabad, Nov 8:

The Commissioner of Police (CP) special team arrested three persons at Hinanagar in Chikalthana area on Saturday midnight with two pistols, cartridges, and deadly weapons. The police are investigating why the accused were possessing the weapons.

It may be noted that two incidents of firing and kidnapping occurred in the city recently, and now the seizure of weapons is significant.

The arrested have been identified as Abhijeet Madhukar Waghmare (22, Borgaon Taru, Bhokardan, Jalna) and Balu Dagdoba Khillare (24, Khillare Takli Gaon, Bhokardan, Jalna). The police arrested one more person Kapil Ramesh Jogdande (25, Nyaynagar Galli No 10, Aurangabad) at Shendra after a chase.

CP, Dr Nikhil Gupta, received the information from the informers about the weapons. His special team laid a trap at Hinanagar. They found three persons coming from the direction of Jalna to the city. They stopped in the dark behind Samruddhi Food Plaza. The police surrounded them, but one of them started escaped on the motorcycle towards Jalna. The police arrested the two of them and seized a pistol, cartridges, mobile phones, and Rs 150.

Meanwhile, policemen Imran Pathan and A R Kharat chased Kapil Jogdande and arrested him at Shendra. The police seized a pistol, cartridges, motorcycle, and mobile phone from him. All the articles seized amounted to Rs 3.04 lakh.

API, R B Rode, Rajesh Bankar, Parshuram Sonawane, Imran Pathan, V R Nikam, M B Vikhankar, A R Kharat, S J Syed, V S Pawar, Siddharth Thorat, Vishal Sonawane, and others executed the police action.
