35 pc COVID patients died because of blood pressure

Aurangabad, Dec 26:

The number of Novel coronavirus patients is increasing in the district day by day. A total of 1196 COVID patients died. Of them, 35 per cent had blood pressure while 29 pc were diabetic.

Nearly six per cent patients had kidney disease while five per cent were suffering from TB, Asthama and other diseases. A total of 45,289 people were pandemic virus infected. A total of 541 are undergoing treatment. The first COVID patient was detected in the city in March.

It spread to rural areas from the city gradually. If a positive patient has BP and diabetes, he is admitted in COVID centre while patients who have no BP or diabetes are kept at COVID Care Centre.

Patients are undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and College (GMCH), District Civil Hospital, private hospitals, and Meltron Hospital of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The critical patients are sent to GMCH.

The recovery rate of the city and rural patients is 96 pc which is a matter of satisfaction for the health machinery. COVID 19 is not over yet, so, people with diabetes and BP should take utmost care.

Dr Jagannath Dixit, from the Department of Community Medicine of GMCH, said that not much medicines are available to treat one who is infected from COVID. “Doctors make all efforts to save the life of patients. People should follow all pandemic measures,” he added.
