Aurangabad, April 12:

A six years old boy was kidnapped for a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. at Wadgaon Kolhati Shivar on Monday at around 8 am. The MIDC Waluj police, on receiving the information, laid a trap, arrested the kidnapper, and rescued the boy Shaurya Somshekhar Hiraman (6) within just three hours. The arrested has been identified as Santosh Ramesh Sonnase (29, Udangaon, Sillod, presently living at Ranjangaon).

Somshekhar Rudrayya Hiraman (Wadgaon) lives with his wife Paurnima Hiraman and son Shaurya at Wadgaon Kolhati. His wife Paurnima is the director of the Sunrise English School at Ambelohal. On Monday morning, Somshekhar went to the shop as usual and his wife to the school. Shaurya was alone in the house. At around 8 am, the kidnapper entered the house and told him that his mother has called him. As the boy knew the person, he went with him. The kidnapper then took him with him on his moped to a secluded place.

The kidnapper then called Shaurya’s mother on phone and told her that her son has been kidnapped and demanded Rs 20 lakh for his rescue. She and her husband went to the Waluj MIDC police station and told PI Madhukar Sawant about the incident. PI Madhukar Sawant immediately took action and laid a trap to arrest the kidnapper.

Later, the kidnapper called Pournima again and asked her to bring the money. However, he kept on changing places where the money had to be paid. He even told her that she is being watched. Finally, it was decided to meet at Bajajnagar, but he did not come there. Shaurya’s parents were worried.

Meanwhile, the police received the information that the kidnapper has kept Shaurya at Ranjangaon, PI, Madhukar Sawant, API Gautam Wawave, PSI Rajendra Bangar, head constable Nitin Deshmukh, and others went to the spot and safely rescued Shaurya. The kidnapper Santosh Ramesh Sananse was also arrested. He works in a company at Waluj MIDC area, and he had made a plan to kidnap Shaurya a few days back. Before, executing the plan, he left his wife to her parents.

On receiving the information, Commissioner of Police, Dr Nikhil Gupta, went to the Waluj MIDC police station. He praised the action executive by the PI Madhukar Sawant and his team. DCP, Nikesh Khatmode – Patil, ACP Vivek Saraf provided valuable guidance in executing the police action.
