Aurangabad, Nov 18:

The officials from the water supply section at Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) are struggling for the past few days to restore the paralysed water supply schedule in the city.

As reported earlier, the disruption in water supply took place after a power cable at Jayakwadi got damaged on November 15 at 7 pm. Acting on the information, the AMC and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) officials toiled during the whole night and succeeded in overcoming the snag by next day early morning.

It is believed that it would take five days to restore the water supply of the city. As a measure, the AMC postponed the water supply schedule of some areas by one day. " The civic body tried its best to supply water on November 16 so that the citizens could enjoy the Diwali festival, but not succeed in providing water to all areas, as expected. The supply, however, was restored the very next day. Meanwhile, the efforts to supply water to the city have been underway for the past two days, said the acting executive engineer Kiran Dhande.

Meanwhile, the residents of Hanumannagar in Ulkanagari vicinity claimed to receive water with low pressure for the last 15 days. They mentioned that despite using electric motors by many residents, they could not get water. Hence they urged the section concerned to settle the complaint.
