Aurangabad, May 27:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has received an installment of Rs 15 crore to implement solid waste management effectively in the city. The state government had approved SWM's detailed project report (DPR) of Rs 148 crore. Earlier, the civic body had received Rs 92 crore, and now, out of the remaining Rs 56 crore, it has received Rs 15 crore. The AMC has plans to spend upon garbage management in the city.

The AMC utilised the previous fund for starting three garbage processing plants (at Chikalthana, Padegaon, and Kanchanwadi), while the fourth plant at Harsul is in the last phase of completion. The AMC had received 60 percent of the fund from the Central and the State Governments, so far.
