Aurangabad, Nov 9:

The trench which was dugged out by a contractor to lay CCTV cable on the road near Salim Ali Lake, recently, was repaired today as it was in the previous condition, through polymer technology.

The municipal commissioner A K Pandey, on Friday, had spotted the contractor while digging a road by 2 feet deep to lay the CCTV cable of 1.6 inches size. He was disappointed and gave a demonstration to him and showed how the cable could be laid down in just 6 inches deep trench.

Today, the officials surfaced the road after laying CCTV cable with polymer technology. The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation executive engineer Hemant Kolhe, Smart City Project''s deputy chief executive officer Pushkal Shivam and ward engineer Ajay Bhoye were present on occasion.

It may be noted that the civic chief had fixed parameters while laying any kind of cables or pipes in the city, hereafter. To lay a cable or pipe, the depth of the trench to lay it should be double its size. For e.g.: for laying of 6 inches cable or pipe, the depth of the trench should be 12 inches. If anybody violates it, then the AMC would take necessary action against him.

Moreover, it has also been instructed to use a small breaker for digging trenches to lay CCTV cable in the city, stated the order.
