Aurangabad, March 12:
Acting upon the instructions of the central government team to mark containment zones and seal their boundaries, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will be undertaking surveys and mapping process (location of patients) in the ' hot spot' areas in a couple of days, said the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar. The areas reporting a large number of Covid-19 patients will be declared as containment zones, it is learnt
Dr Padalkar added, " To prevent the outbreak, we will recommend home quarantine to persons coming in contact with Covid-19 patients. If it is not possible for them, then only we would admit them to our institutional (of AMC) quarantine centres, which will be restarted soon. We have also constituted 10 teams for conducting RT-PCR and antigen tests. The sudden rise in patients is noticed as the antigen tests were conducted in a large number. We had crossed the figure of 2,000 tests in a day."
