Aurangabad, Nov 25:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued a letter to all nine zonal officers alerting them to keep an eye on the shops in commercial markets and function halls in their jurisdictions. They have been told to seal the shop if more than five customers are found present in it and more than 50 guests are found in the function hall. It is mandatory upon citizens to wear masks or else the AMC squad would fine them for their irresponsibility. The action is a part of the preventive measure taken by AMC in connection with the second wave of Coronavirus in the city, said the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar.

The municipal commissioner and the administrator A K Pandey in a meeting with the function hall-owners told them to strictly allow entry to 50 guests only and ensure that all are wearing masks. If any guest in the hall is found without a mask during the check, then the AMC squad would seal the hall for one month. In another step, he told the shopkeepers to allow entry to a batch of five customers one time in their shop. The shopkeeper should send a second batch of five after the first batch returns. If any customer in the shop is found without a mask, then fine will be collected from him and the AMC will seal the shop for 15 days. The written order issued by the civic chief to all zonal officers directed them to implement the orders. They will be forming squads to pay surprise visits in their jurisdiction and observe any violation of order then they have been authorised to take action on the spot, said Dr Padalkar.
