Armed robberies and incidents involving armed mischief-makers are increasing in city, raising concerns about police handling.
Despite local goons posting videos with weapons on social media after incidents in Mukundwadi and Harsul, no action has been taken by the Crime Branch, Special Branch, or Cyber Police. A notorious gangster was seen wielding a sword in the TV Center area, prompting police attention. During a procession in Tisgaon, Waluj, a group attacked Yogesh Kasure with swords and knives on Tuesday. Earlier, on April 13th, two individuals in Osmanpura displayed swords in the middle of the road. No investigation has been initiated into the source of these weapons. Six armed mischief-makers were arrested with knives, swords, and sickles on Monday. However, only Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act was applied by the Begumpura and MIDC Waluj police, leading to the release of offenders. In contrast, Kranti Chowk and Chawani police applied both Section 135 and Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act. The following individuals were apprehended with knives and sickles in their possession: Mohammad Rafquoddin (Rashidpura), Umedur Rahman Patel (Rozabuagh), Sandip Ahire (26, Sanjaynagar), Gaurav Arsood (19), Yash (16, Bhavsingshpura), Rohan Hiwral (19, Krantinagar), and Arun Giri (30, Ranjangaon).

Why no action on glorification of weapons?
Local goons frequently post videos and pictures on social media glorifying weapons. Despite this, the local police, along with the Crime Branch and Cyber Police, have taken no action. In Mukundwadi, a stockpile of weapons by goons raises serious concerns, yet no case has been filed against the local prankster, Pimple, and senior officers have shielded the police from responsibility.
