Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
On the occasion of World Malaria Day, an awareness rally was organised on Saturday morning from Kranti Chowk by the Municipal Corporation’s Health Department. The rally concluded at Siddharth Garden.
The rally was inaugurated by assistant director (malaria) Dr Rekha Bhandare, municipal officer for health Dr Paras Mandlecha, and district health officer Dr Abhay Dhanorkar. During the rally, participants spread awareness about malaria, its prevention, and precautionary measures through informative messages and slogans. The rally passed through Kranti Chowk, Sillekhana, and Samarthnagar before reaching Siddharth Garden.
District malaria officer Dr R.B. Dhole, assistant health officer Dr Ujjwala Bhamare, district filaria officer Dr Vaishali Patil, and municipal biologist Dr Sayed Sumaiya were prominently present.
An exhibition on malaria was also set up at Siddharth Garden. This year’s theme, “Committed to Malaria Elimination: Now it is possible, now it must be done,” was highlighted. Dr Paras Mandlecha and Dr R.B. Dhole guided citizens on adopting effective mosquito control measures and starting awareness from an individual level.
Efforts for the successful organisation were taken by Dr Sayed Sumaiya, Dr Adityakumar Joshi, Shaikh Danish, Milind Jabangi along with malaria supervisors and staff.
