Aurangabad, April 14:

The COVID Testing Laboratory of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) received Falcon Thermo Fisher Machine from Radico N V Distilleries Ltd, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund.

The machine is very useful in sample testing of patients at a fast pace. District collector Sunil Chavan who made efforts to make available the equipment paid a goodwill visit to the university on Tuesday.

Radico N V Distilleries Ltd, the Shendra-based industry, provided Falcon Thermo Fisher Machine of Rs 28.32 lakh. Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole said that industries of Marathwada maintain social commitments.

Earlier, the laboratory staff have to test each sample separately and the process was time-consuming. The machine will help to test 96 samples in just 22 minutes. Currently, the laboratory staff can test 1500 samples daily. Laboratory director Dr Gulab Khedkar said that with the help of the machine, they would be able to test 2500 swab samples daily.

District collector Sunil Chavan assured the university of providing all help for the COVID laboratory and sports departments. VC Dr Yeole said that the university will make available hostels if the administration needs in the COVID crisis. State unit head of
