Aurangabad, Jan 2:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University''s administration has launched a new course postgraduate diploma in Virology (PGD) from the new academic year.

It may be noted that the university started two Novel coronavirus testing laboratories a few months ago at Rs 3 crore raised through corporate social responsibility (CSR). The first was started city campus while another at Osmanabad sub-centre.

More than 60,000 samples of COVID were carried out in both the laboratories. Since the number of test samples has come down, the university decided to use the laboratories for the research also.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole said that the university had launched a PG Diploma in Virology course.

“The course has just ten intake capacity. This will provide more job opportunities to local students taking into the current situation,” he added.
