BJP burns Governments effigy
Aurangabad, Dec 30:
The BJP activists burnt the effigy of the Maha Vikas Aaghadi government at Kranti Chowk on Wednesday over the issue of alleged rape of a girl in the city.
The BJP youth and women wings activists staged demonstrations at Kranti Chowk on Wednesday and demanded that the home minister should resign and the victim should get the justice at the earliest. Government Prosecutor Ujwal Nikam should be appointed and the trial should be conducted as per the new law in this regard, they demanded.
Former minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Youth wing state president Vikrant Patil, MLA Atul Save, city president Sanjay Kenekar, organizer Bhaurao Deshmukh, former mayor Bhagwan Ghadamode, Pramod Rathod, Pravin Ghuge and others were present.
Bawankule said, the accused of the case Mehboob Shaikh is the state president of the NCP youth wing and hence the Cidco police had not registered the case for three days. The government is pressuring the police as the accused is the leader of the ruling party. Vikrant Patil alleged that the law and order situation in the state is getting worst.
