Aurangabad, Feb 10:

The business fraternity in the city has expressed their disappointment over the decision of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to collect the license fee from April 1. They threatened to agitate if the civic administration does not withdraw the decision.

According to the president of Marathwada Chamber of Trade and Commerce, Praful Malani, " We had met with the municipal commissioner regarding the license fee, and he had assured us of not implementing it without taking the Vyapari Mahasangh into confidence. However, he has decided on implementing the fee without our consultation. He should rethink over the decision or else the business fraternity will come on the roads and agitate to press our demand."

The president of Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh, Jagannath Kale said," The decision has been taken by keeping us into the dark. The AMC has betrayed us. We will not let them collect the fee. We will be holding a meeting of all business associations in a couple of days and decide our next action plan. We would reply to the ruling party members of AMC, who had passed this resolution, by voting (against them) in the coming election."
