Aurangabad, Feb 19:

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's politics, strategy and religion were righteous and methodical. You should never forget that Shivrai was born in India, asserted principal Dr Ismail Pathan.

He was speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University on Friday. Vice chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole presided over. Dr Pathan gave a lecture on 'Politics, Strategy and Religion of Shivaray'. He said that in the history of the world, the medieval period was known as the dark ages. But Shivaji Maharaj established the kingdom of righteousness for the people. Hundreds of mavlas of this great king of the middle ages fought for their lives. Shivrai built more than 400 forts in just 50 years of his life. By treating all religions with tolerance, 'Mudra Bhadraya Rajate' means the welfare of the people. Liberated the masses from the grip of landlords. He also built small masjids on the forts. Shivaji Maharaj is the pride of Maharashtra and everyone should work hard to carry forward this glorious history of Maharaj, said Dr Pathan. Registrar Dr Jayashree Suryavanshi, management council member Dr Fulchand Salampure, Dr Rajesh Karpe, Prof Sunil Nikam, Dr Satish Dandge, Dr Mustajib Khan.
