Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The City District Congress paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pulwama attack and welcomed the appointment of new Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Harshwardhan Sapkal and new Leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) MLA Vijay Wadettiwar at Gandhi Bhavan, on Friday.

The welcome was marked by the distribution of sweets, without any dhol-tasha or fanfare. At the same time, City President Shaikh Yusuf issued a stern warning to those causing factionalism within the party. Strict action would be taken against those violating party discipline and holding separate events without following party protocols.

On February 14, 2019, a terrorist attack was carried out on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. All the brave soldiers who were martyred in this attack were honoured during the event.

After the tribute, Sapkal was congratulated for his appointment as the new MPCC President and Wadettiwar was congratulated for his selection as the CLP leader.

The event was attended by many party leaders and activists, including Ibrahim Pathan, Akhef Rizvi, Dipali Misal, Anita Bhandari and Shaikh Athar were present on the occasion.
