Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Under Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY), a housing project will be constructed in Harsul. There are more than 150 small and large encroachments on this land. This issue of encroachments has been discussed for the past six months. On Monday, municipal corporation officers inspected the encroachments. Encroachers have been warned to remove their encroachments voluntarily within five days.

The PMAY’s housing project will be built on land bearing Gut Numbers 216 and 217 near Harsul Lake. Around 150 citizens have encroached by setting up tin sheds. On Monday, municipal officers inspected the site and gave the citizens a five-day deadline to remove the encroachments voluntarily. The administration has provided the option to grant citizens housing under the PMAY if they apply. However, the citizens have not responded. If the encroachments are not removed voluntarily within the given time, the municipal corporation will take action. The material seized during the action will not be returned, warned the officials of the anti-encroachment section.
