Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) will be bringing a pair of lions, sloth bears, and jackals from the Shivamogga Zoo and Safari in Karnataka. Earlier, a team of CSMC officials was scheduled to visit Karnataka on August 18 to check the health condition of the wildlife animals, but the visit has now been postponed to August 24, said the sources.

Last week, a team of officials from Shivamogga Zoo had visited Siddharth Garden Zoo to inspect three tigers – one tiger and two tigresses – on August 11 under exchange programme. To inspect the animals to be brought here, a delegation led by Deputy Commissioner Aparna Thete and Zoo Superintendent Vijay Patil along with in-charge zoo director Shaikh Shahed, zoo officer Sanjay Nandan, and others will leave for Karnataka on August 24.
