Aurangabad, Feb 11:

The Pundliknagar police and revenue department officers conducted a raid oin a digital and E-Seva Centre where forged election cards were prepared, on Wednesday night. The police have arrested two persons and a computer, printer, mobile phones and other articles were seized. The arrested have been identified as Harish Dhuraji Waghmare (22) and Navnath Bhaktdas Shinde (26).

The police said, on the basis of the information that forged election cards are being prepared at Matoshree Digital Centre, a raid was conducted by API Ghansham Sonawane along with the revenue department officers. A fake customer was sent to the centre and he asked for a new election card. Accordingly, Harish Waghmare gain information from the election commission’s website and prepared a forged election card of the fake customer. Later, Waghmare’s friend made a smart card of the election card. The police have seized the articles worth around Rs 39,200 from the centre.

Tehsildar Shankar Lad, nayab tehsildar Revannath Tathe, API Sonawane, PSI Vikas Khatke, Prabhakar Sonawane, constable Ramesh Sangle, Balaram Chaure, Shivaji Gaikwad, Rajesh Yadmal, Maya Ugle and others executed the operation.
