Aurangabad, April 24:

The City Chowk police have arrested a drug peddler for selling sedative tablets at Juna Bazar area on Friday afternoon and seized 300 tablets from him.

The arrested has been identified as Shaikh Shahrukh Shaikh Hanif (26, Azim Colony).

Police said, the informer informed that a man is selling sedative tablets in Juna Bazar area. Under the guidance of PI Sambhaji Pawar, PSI Rohit Gangurde, constable Appasaheb Deshmukh, Dilip Modi, Sanjay Nand, Sandeep Tayade , drug inspector J D Jadhav and others laid a trap and arrested Shahrukh and seized 30 strips of 10 tablets each of Nitrosan – 10. It is crime to possess these tablets without prescription. A case has been registered on the complaint lodged by PSI Gangurde.
