Aurangabad, Nov 5:

Around three to four kidnappers of a gang opened fire on a building contractor at PWD Employees Housing Society at Devanagari and tried to kidnap him on Wednesday morning. The police could not trace the gang until now even after the passing of 36 hours. The crime branch has sent three teams at various places to arrest the members of the kidnappers’ gang.

Nadim Pathan Raul Pathan, a building contractor, was attacked by kidnappers who came in a car on Wednesday morning at around 11.30 am. They dumped him in the car and took him towards Beed district. However, they ran out of fuel and left the injured Nadim and the car in the midway and escaped from the scene. Nadim’s brother, Wasim, lodged a complaint at Satara police station on Wednesday night. Accordingly, cases were registered against suspects Feroz, his three sons and other three persons in this connection. PSI, Vikram Vadne is further investigating the case.

Now, under the guidance of crime branch PI, Anil Gaikwad, three separate teams led by PSI Amol Deshmukh, PSI Vitthal Chaskar and PSI Vijay Pawar went to various places in search of the kidnappers. However, the police could not trace the accused even after 36 hours of the incident.

A few days back, Nadim and his father quarreled with Feroz, a Patel Pride resident at Saadatnagar. The dispute was resolved after the nearby residents intervened and injured Nadim paid Rs 25,000 to Feroz through negotiation. Still, Feroz alleged that Nadim and his family stole his cash and jewelry and demanded Rs 10 lakh from them.

Meanwhile, CP, Dr Nikhil Gupta, inspected the spot where the kidnappers opened fired on Nadim and kidnapped him. The officers informed him about the crime sequence.
