Aurangabad, Dec 25:

Former MP Chandrakant Khaire did not pay proper attention to the issue of Sambhajinagar. Therefore, the issue has been pending in the Supreme Court for the last fifteen years. Now MP Dr Bhagwat Karad is looking into the matter, and I believe that the issue will soon be resolved, said MLA Atul Save.

Speaking to this newspaper, he said that Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray had named the city Sambhajinagar. His dream should come true. Former MP Khaire was asked to pay attention to this issue. But even after so many years, this issue could not be resolved. Politics starts on the question during election season. Even now, there is politics. However, the BJP wants the city to be renamed as Sambhajinagar. But the BJP will fight and win the upcoming municipal elections on development, he said. Save said, if the water problem is solved, progress can take place. Therefore, Rs 1,680 crore water supply scheme for this city was followed up and approved by the then chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. To complete this scheme on time, the government should pay 30 per cent of the corporation''s share.

There are no parking zones or hawker zones in the city. The issue of garbage and Safari park is pending. The corporation should decide the priorities. Many industrialists are ready for the beautification of the squares. However, he also pointed out that due to the corporation''s oppressive conditions, the industrialists turned away.
