Aurangabad, July 27:

A case was registered against seven activists, including Yuva Sena deputy secretary and former deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal, in connection with the brawl of Shiv Sena-BJP office-bearers on Monday after a dispute that erupted during distribution of tokens at the municipal vaccination center at Vijaynagar-Mehernagar. In the complaint filed in the Jawaharnagar police station, BJP OBC cell city chief Govind Kendre said that Janjal asked to accompany him for tea and took him to the cabinet minister Sandipan Bhumare's office and assaulted him. A case has also been registered against Amol Pate, Akash Raut and other four activists.

According to information, a brawl erupted between Kendre and Janjal supporters in connection with the distribution of tokens at a vaccination centre on Monday afternoon. Kendre was later thrashed by Sena activists. In the complaint, Kendre mentioned that from last week, Janjal and his eight to ten supporters had been queuing up acquaintances at the vaccination centres. They were eating tobacco, spitting and making a fuss at the centre. When tried to stop, they started arguing and verbally abused him. One of the activists called Janjal who came to the centre and asked him to accompany to Bhumare's office for tea. While standing outside the office, an unidentified person thrashed him from behind while a person slapped him on the face several times after which he felt unconscious. Someone then admitted him to a private hospital. Based on the complaint, the Jawaharnagar police have filed a case against Janjal and other activists under sections 143, 147, 149 (rioting), sections 323, 324 (assault and inflicting serious injury), 505, 506 (threatening to kill) and section 135 (illegal gathering). PSI Bharat Pachole is investigating the case.
