Aurangabad, June 4:

The Cyber police have arrested the kingpin at Bihar in the cheating of a trader from Waluj MIDC of Rs 56,65,700 on the pretext of giving him gas agency of Bharat Petroleum Company Ltd. Earlier, the police had arrested his four accomplices. Several cheating cases have been registered against them at Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi and Andra Pradesh and the police of various states had included them in the list of wanted criminals.

The kingpin has been identified as Nitishkumar Jitendrasingh Prasad (24, Hathiyari, tehsil Birnava, district Navada, state Bihar).

According to the details, a trader from Waluj MIDC and complainant Changdev Somnath Tandale, last year, applied for getting a gas agency from the Bharat Petroleum Ltd. On August 1, 2020, he received a call and the person on the call told him that he is an officer of the BPCL company and an agency has been sanctioned for him. He also sent some fake documents in the name of the company to Tandale and asked him to deposit some money. During August 1 and September 2, 2020, Tandale deposited Rs 56,65,700 online on the bank accounts. When realized that he has been duped, he lodged a complaint at the Cyber police station. PI Geeta Bagwade and others investigated and arrested four accused last year. However, the mastermind Nitishkumar was not arrested. He was not arrested as the Aurangabad police were not getting appropriate assistance from the Bihar police.

Meanwhile, Sayali Dhurat, a native from Maharashtra was appointed as the superintendent of police of Navada district in Bihar. The Aurangabad police requested her for assistance. Under the guidance of ACP Ravindra Chavan, a team including PSI Rahul Chavan, constable Vivek Auti, Gokul Kutarwade, Mansur Shah, Vijay Ghuge, Amol Sontakke, Krishana and Chhaya Landge went to Bihar and met SP Dhurat. The local police on her orders assisted the team and Nitishkumar was nabbed. The team reached Aurangabad today.

Cheating case of Rs 56,65,700 against accused has been registered at Aurangabad, Rs 9,74 lakh at New Delhi, Rs 10.29 lakh at Bengaluru and one case at Vishakhapattam, the sources said.
