Aurangabad, May 11:

The water supply department of the municipal corporation repaired the leak on the old 700 mm waterline near Isarwadi village on Paithan road on Tuesday morning without stopping the water supply. The repair work carried out in the morning was completed with great effort till 7 pm. Not stopping the pumping will not affect the water supply.

Officials and employees of the water supply department have to work day and night to keep the city's water supply running smoothly by pumping water through both new 1400 and old 700 mm water lines as per the demand. On Tuesday morning, the valve of the old waterline developed a leakage near Isarwadi village. The staff of the water supply department informed the executive engineer in charge of the water supply department Kiran Dhande. Work of repairing the leakage was started by continuing the water supply. Two 10 HP and one 5 HP motors were installed to dig a hole around the valve and draw water out of it. The work was completed by 7.30 pm. Dhande said it would not affect the city's water supply as the water supply was not closed.
