Akshay alias Bhaiyya Ramesh Wahul (25), a notorious criminal from Satara, has been detained again under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act and sent to Harsul Jail. CP Pravin Pawar issued the detention order on Wednesday.

Wahul has over ten serious cases registered against him, including attempted murder, robbery, assault with weapons, theft, and encroachment. Despite multiple arrests, he continued his criminal activities after securing bail.

Crime Branch Inspectors Sandeep Gurme and Sangram Tathe had submitted a fresh proposal for his detention under the MPDA. Wahul was earlier detained under the same Act, but the High Court had revoked the order. Even after release, he committed two more serious crimes in November and December.

Following continuous complaints and safety concerns from local residents, authorities took fresh action and detained him once again.
