Aurangabad, Oct 24:

A woman (Seema, name changed) from Aurangabad married at Nevasa in Ahmednagar district was mentally tortured by a man near her house. He used to called her on her phone and demanded sexual favours. She went under mental trauma and decided to commit suicide. However, the Aurangabad police came to her rescue and arrested the man by laying a trap.

Seema lived at her in-laws'' house at Nevasa. A shopkeeper near her house used to send messages on her phone and always used to do lewd gestures to her. Later, he demanded sexual favours from her. He often called her on the phone and told her to go to her parents at Aurangabad, where he will come and meet her.

Seema, fed up with mental torture, decided to commit suicide with her child. A few days back, she came to Aurangabad and told her friend about it. He consoled Seema and took her to the police. The head of the community policing, PI, Kiran Patil, Jamadar Lata Jadhav, police Naik Nirmala Nimbhore and Shaikh listened to her misery and counseled her not to commit suicide. They told her to call the man in the city. Accordingly, a trap was laid near Siddharth Garden. The police arrested the man and took preventive action against him. Seema’s number and chatting was deleted from his phone. Preventive action has been taken against the man, informed PI Patil.
