Aurangabad, Feb 1:

The dead body of a 35-year-old man who was reported missing for the past few days was found in Cidco Waluj Mahanagar area on Monday. There is a mystery whether the man committed suicide or he was murdered. The man was identified as Shaikh Zafar Shaikh Bhikan (near Shanimandir, Kannad).

According to details, an unknown man was found in an unconscious state in bushes near Petrol pump ground of Cidco Waluj Mahanagar at 9 am today.

On receiving information, PSI Satish Pandit and his colleagues reached the spot found the youth lying in an unconscious state.

He was rushed to Government Hospital for the treatment. He has been declared brought dead. There were marks of old injuries near the neck and shoulder. A name ‘Shirin’ was tattooed on his chest. No proof was recovered from the spot for the identification of the body.

Police inspector Madhukar Sawant and other police personnel started collecting information about missing persons from city and rural areas. A missing person’s complaint was lodged with City Chowk Police Station. The description of missing persons and the dead body was matching. Police contacted his relatives in Kannad.

Shaikh Shakeel, one of the relatives of the deceased, identified him as Shaikh Zafar Shaikh Bhikan. Sk Zafar who came to the city to meet relatives a few days ago went missing.

A missing complaint was made with the City Chowk Police Station. PI Sawant said the exact cause of death would be ascertained after the post-mortem report.
