Aurangabad, Oct 31:

Mukundwadi police have busted a racket by arresting a married woman, who cheated innocent three bridegrooms through fake marriages, revealed the primary investigation.

The name of the accused is Vijaya Dinesh Amrute (27, a resident of Mukundwadi). Vijaya is married and is the mother of a four-year-old son. She lost the job in the lockdown period and was unable to pay the house rent. While she was struggling to borrow money, she got introduced to a couple staying in Sillekhana through her friend. The couple was operating the racket.

The friend showed her way to make fast bucks. As a result, Vijaya agreed to be a part of the racket. Meanwhile, the agent Prakash Kharat contacted an aspirant from Sinnar tehsil (in Nasik), who was searching for a bride. Kharat showed the photo of Vijaya of him. Kharat arranged a meeting to introduce them on the road near MGM Hospital during the lockdown period. When both of them expressed their liking for each other, the agent fixed a deal that the to-be bridegroom will give Rs 1 lakh to make marriage arrangements, Rs 1 lakh to maternal brother and Rs 1 lakh to the agent, apart from gifting ornaments to the bride.
