Aurangabad, April 4:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administration will implement a mega COVID vaccination driver at 115 wards from April 5.

It may be noted the AMC started the vaccination drive at 45 centres from April 1 for those who are 45 years and above age.

Now, the civic body decided to implement it on a big level. So, the vaccines will be administered at 115 wards from Monday simultaneously.

The vaccination was halted on Sunday without informing people. Those who had gone to take the vaccine in rising mercury had to return home without it. There were more than 2,000 people at each centre today for the vaccination.

Residents of each will be able to take the vaccine from tomorrow. The stock of one lakh doses will be available in the next two days.

The mega drive will be implemented on the basis of the current stock of 50,000 doses for the convenience of people.

Four to five employees were deployed at the centre of each ward for the vaccination.

Health officer Dr Neeta Padalkar said that besides AMC employees, its school teachers' service would be taken for the campaign.
