The office-bearers of Maharashtra English School Trustees Association (MESTA) decided to contest Marathwada graduates Constituency election.

In a press release issued on Saturday, the MESTA president Sanjayrao Tayde Patil stated that those who were elected on the votes of graduates of the region had not raised the issues of the youth during the last 12 years. He said that the association registered 70,000 graduates as voters to raise their voices.

“With the spread of Novel coronavirus, students were deprived of education. Many lost jobs while others business faced closure. Leaders were seen nowhere. No students from granted or Government could study as the Government is talking about online education. Teachers working non-granted English, Marathi and Urdu mediums are facing financial problems. Some teaches are selling vegetables, vada pav, while others are running stalls of sanitisers, chips and toys on streets,” he said.

Sanjayrao Tayade Patil said that not a single graduate from the region has got in 400 industries of the district. He pointed out that the legislators from Graduates and Teachers Constituencies have done nothing to get local youths jobs. “A graduate should contest graduates constituency election than a contractor (not taking name of the last legislator of the constituency),” he added.
