Aurangabad, Nov 20:

The district collector Sunil Chavan today reviewed the preparations regarding Marathwada Graduates'' Constituency Election with different sections and departments and directed the nodal officers to ensure effective implementation of the ideal code of conduct is in place.

The collector also reviewed police security arrangements during the election. The commissioner of police (CP) Nikhil Gupta and the superintendent of police (SP) Mokshada Patil apprised about the adequate arrangements made by them in respective urban and rural jurisdictions of the district. They also mentioned the availability of adequate force with them.

Chavan held discussion with nodal officers on topics like training camps of election personnel, law and order arrangements, monitoring expenses of political parties, media cell, jumbo ballot box, the printing of ballot papers, distribution of postal ballots, acquiring and distribution of election materials, vehicles for election work, IT cell, facilities to voters at the polling stations, strong rooms, security at polling stations and counting station, distribution of voters list, arranging health service at each polling station in terms of Covid-19, food arrangement, web-casting etc.

The collector ordered the heads of different sections to perform the given election tasks effectively before the deadline. The additional collector Anant Gavhane, resident deputy collector Sanjeev Jadhawvar, deputy district election officer Bharat Kadam and all nodal officers were also present in the meeting.
