Aurangabad, Jan 13:

The Jinsi police have arrested a mobile phone thief who stole two phones of the auto-rickshaw drivers in two different incidents and Katkat Gate and Central Octroi Post respectively and also the mobile purchaser. The police have seized three mobile phones amounting Rs 50,000 from him. The arrested have been identified as Shaikh Usman Shaikh Mohammad (30, Sharif Colony) and buyer Syed Majjit Syed Nazir.

Police said, Osman is a hardcore thief on the police record. The police have earlier arrested him, but still he continued his unlawful activities. On January 11, an auto-rickshaw driver Vikas Limkar had gone at Katkat Gate with passengers and the accused stole his mobile phone. Limkar lodged a complaint at the police station. In another incident, a mobile phone of a rickshaw driver was stolen at Central Octroi Post area. During investigation, the police on suspicion arrested Osman and while interrogation he confessed that he had stolen the mobile phones and sold to Syed Mattit. The police have seized three mobile handsets from him amounting Rs 50,000.

The police action was executed under the guidance of PI Vyankatesh Kendre by PSI Datta Shelke, ASI Supekar, Sampat Rathod, Arun Shaikh, Kishor Budile, Sanjay Gawande, Nandlal Chavan and Santosh Banavat.
