Aurangabad, Oct 12:

The state government had sanctioned Rs 151 crore to Pune, under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), to fight against Covid-19, in its jurisdiction. Hence, the MP, Imtiaz Jaleel, through a letter to the chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, has also demanded huge fund on the lines of Pune to tackle the Coronavirus Disease in the district.

Jaleel drew the attention of CM towards hindrances faced by health administration during the treatment of Covid-19 patients. He underlined the shortage of fund. The MP emphasised that the hospitals in rural areas are waiting for adequate medical aid and workforce for the treatment. There is a shortage of RT-PCR test kits, N95 masks, medicines and injections required to get rid of Covid-19 in the urban sector. There are no ICU beds and oxygen beds in government and private hospitals, apart from the necessary number of doctors. Adding to the woes, the government had not released the honorarium of expert doctors.

Many problems and inconvenience in treating Covid-19 patients could be overcome if the government grants aid to Aurangabad district on the lines of Pune as early as possible, stated the letter of MP.
