The number of patients with mucormycosis in the city is increasing day by day. Three more patients died at a private hospital during treatment on Tuesday. During the day, the number of patients has increased by 23 and 328 active patients are undergoing treatment in 15 hospitals. The number of patients dying from mucormycosis has now reached 82. These statistics show the severity of mucormycosis.

Citizens who have had corona have the highest risk of developing mucormycosis. Experts in the municipal corporation said that if people suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and other ailments were given injections of remdesivir and steroids, they would also be at risk of developing mucormycosis. Therefore, planning has been done at the government level to control this disease. However, the disease is spreading rapidly and the number of patients is increasing day by day. Deaths from mucormycosis are also on the rise. Three patients had died on Monday, while three more patients died on Tuesday, according to the municipal health department. So far, 82 people have died. Although the number of patients with mucormycosis is less in the city, a large number of patients from rural areas and other districts are coming to the city for treatment. Patients are being treated in small and big hospitals in the city.

22 patients were discharged

Twenty-two people were discharged on Tuesday. So far, a total of 789 patients have been treated in 15 hospitals in the city. However, the number of patients is high in the Government Medical College and Hospital, MIT and MGM hospitals.
