Aurangabad, Oct 15:

City Chowk police today have arrested four persons, in connection with the kidnapping of a local hotelier over a monetary dispute, from Beed. The hotelier is now free from the clutches of the accused.

Earlier, the police had arrested two accused from Beed. The cops produced all the six accused in the court where the judge announced one-day police custody remand (PCR) to them.

The accused arrested by police are identified as Suresh Giram (38, resident of Murshidpur in Beed). Rajendra Salunke (42, Kabbad Galli, Beed). Ram Karande (Beed), Nitesh Kale (27, Beed). Kalim Shaikh (24, a resident of Daudpura in Beed) and jeep driver Umesh Udawant (32, a resident of Shahunagar in Beed). Of these six, Giram and Salunke were arrested first then the remaining four were held today.

These six accused had kidnapped the hotel-owner Vikas Phartale (a resident of Shivajinagar) from the campus of the Registry Office on Tuesday evening. They were having monetary disputes relating to interest upon the principal amount.

City Chowk police had registered an offence in this regard. Under the guidance of police inspector Sambhaji Pawar, the team led by PSI Pravin Pathrikar arrested all the six accused. The police recovered Rs 3,000 cash from them and also seized the jeep used in the crime from their possession.
