Aurangabad, May 5:

COVID 19 is tentacles in more and more villages of the district. It spread in 59 new villages during the last one week. It may be noted that there were active patients in 633 towns on April 25. It spread in 62 new villages, and their number had gone up to 695 till May 2.

There were 133 villages which had no patient for 28 days. Their number has gone to 122 after patients reported from 11 villages.

The pandemic virus spread more in rural areas for the past 15 days compared to city. The number of patients is below 500 as COVID test suspects figure was low during the last week.

It is a matter of concern that the virus is spreading to new villages and those which were on the path of COVD free.

The Health Department needs to take it seriously. The death ratio has also increased in rural areas. The Village Vigilance Committee should increase the pace to trace the patients as the patients whose health is very critical are being admitted at the last moment.

Out of 1368 villages, the pandemic virus entered 1153 towns of the district. Patients were active in 695 villages till May 2.

Of them, 476 villages had less than 25 patients, 121 villages between 25 and 50 patients, 56 villages had patients between 50 and 100.

A total of 42 villages have more than 100 patients. The tehsil-wise number of villages affected from pandemic virus till May 2 is as follows; Aurangabad (96), Phulambri (45), Gangapur and Kannad (each102), Khuldabad (23), Paithan (110), Sillod (77) and Soyegaon (104).
