Pandey orders action against unmasked citizens, shops floating norms

Aurangabad, May 20:

Municipal administrator Astik Kumar Pandey on Thursday inspected some areas in the old city. During inspection Pandey noticed that citizens were not following rules and many shops were also following floating norms. He immediately ordered punitive action against offenders.

There were complaints that many citizens in the old city do not wear masks and shops are open all day during the lockdown. Pandey inspected Buddhi lane, City Chowk, Manjurpura, Shahganj, Champa chowk, Chelipura and Lotakaranja. In most places, he saw citizens walking around without masks and the shops of essential commodities were open even after 11 am. He ordered punitive action against the concerned. Pandey also noticed piles of garbage in several areas. Assistant commissioner Nandkishore Bhombe was instructed by the administrators to pick up the garbage. City engineer S D Panjde, additional commissioner Ravindra Nikam were present.

Immediate action

The administrator noticed a tea stall in front of the gates of the municipal corporation is open all day long. He ordered the authorities to take action against the stall. The authorities immediately removed the stall. Similarly, Pandey also instructed the police personnel present at the Chelipura check post to take action against citizens.
